We are currently recruiting for a Scientist/Senior Scientist in Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics to carry out the development & application of Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) based assays in Cell & Gene Therapy applications.

 

This will be a lab-based role in the Platform Proteomics Group (PPG) within the Platform Research Group (PRG). The PPG is a highly collaborative team and employs cutting-edge mass spectrometry to support research and development activities. This position will give you the experience of working with a state-of-the-art lab with the latest equipment in mass spectrometry.

 

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Routine maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of LCMS platform.

  • Execution and development of new LCMS based assays.

  • Lead in qualification and validation of LCMS based assays for GMP. 

  • Independently manage daily research activities and support team members.

  • Ensure a high standard of record keeping and documentation of all work.

  • Presentation of scientific data at internal meetings.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology or similar sciences with a strong interest in applying mass spectrometry in research.

  • Experience in applying LCMS for the identification and quantification of proteins in various types of samples.

  • Experience in label-based or label-free quantitative proteomics worfklows.

  • Hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting LCMS.

  • Ability to undertake and drive projects to agreed timelines and adapt to changes in project priorities.

  • Ability to communicate promptly and effectively about project progress and any issues via team meetings and project meetings.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a hard-working, motivated, and enthusiastic team.

 

In addition, knowledge and/or experience in the following areas is advantageous, but necessary training will be provided:

  • Experience of absolute quantitation using PRM/MRM methodology using Orbitrap or triple quadrupole mass spectrometry.

  • Experience in DIA and associated data analysis.

  • Experience in developing and validating LCMS based analytical assays.
