We are currently recruiting for a Scientific Assistant (SA0) to join the Analytical Services Group team.  The purpose of this role is to provide essential laboratory activities and services to support Analytical Services Group. 

 

Our Analytical Services Group supports the development of products through analytical testing to facilitate manufacturing and process development, ensuring appropriate quality controls and use of analytics.  

 

Your responsibilities in this role would be: 

 

  • To perform routine monitoring of controlled temperature units within ASG CL3 laboratories 
  • To liaise and work with Equipment Engineering team and external engineers to organize equipment servicing and equipment repair 
  • Provide support for equipment maintenance including equipment files and service contracts. 
  • To clean and maintain the laboratory equipment and facilities in CL3 
  • To operate the autoclave and dispose of waste materials in CL3 
  • Support the ASG pipette clinic including cleaning the pipettes prior to calibration and reviewing the calibration certificates 
  • Oversee, maintain and ensure quality of key stock consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by Scientists to ensure work activities are maintained. 
  • Raise Quality Records including deviations, CAPA and change controls 
  • Assist the team to ensure the CL2 & CL3 laboratory suites meet regulatory compliance 
  • Assist in maintaining the health and safety compliance as applicable to a CL2 & CL3 laboratory facility 

 

We are looking for: 

 

  • GCSE English and Maths 
  • Able to read, write legibly and perform basic maths 
  • Able to use Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook 
  • GMP knowledge & understanding 
  • Aseptic technique & tissue culture techniques 
  • Instrument calibration 
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn 
  • Time management skills – able to manage own time
